We have recently moved house (are now boarding with another family) and have gone from using Telstra, to IINET as a internet provider. Slow is an understatement - the speed of the internet is basically unusable, myself and my partner are constantly having to use our mobile data to access the internet. We have contacted iiNet about the issue and all they have said is 'it's the area.' We will be contacting Telstra in attempt to switch the whole family to them instead, as we don't have any complaints to mention about their service.

Joined iinet 3 months ago when moved. Worst decision ever. Phone and internet down frequently for days at a time. Last downage for 2 weeks before they sent technician out. Just got a bill for extra $200 service fee when fault completely at their end. Save yourself the irritation.

I have been with iiNet for nearly 11 years and in the last few years service has gone down considerably - both in terms of the connection reliability and speed itself, and the service from their staff. I know we are all suffering with the joke of an NBN being installed but I am having to work, research and pay for so much to ensure I have a good connection. I get charged Incorrect Callout Fees when I have no record or indication that anything has been checked whatsoever. The record that I have been; "Advised of the ICF" and that I "Agree to the ICF" when nobody has even called me. I cannot wait to not be taken advantage of a company I have supported and promoted for so long.

iinet provides a decent service. We have only ever run into trouble with them when moving house, they over charged us for a few days when we weren't actually connected to internet. They also took a couple of
weeks to connect our new house to the wifi. however, their customer service - after waiting the half an hour to get in contact with them - is quite good. Their workers are always happy to help and want to see a good outcome arise. The overwall speed of our internet is great and we have no drop out issues.

I had been a loyal customer of iiNet for 9 years and ever since TPG took over the company has been dead on it's feet. Worse than that i relocated and ever since the relocation they have charged me for my new address and the address I moved out of. This is fraudulent and illegal and I will be seeking help through ACCC. They never answer the phone and when they do it's like you are a brand new customer and they have no history of any of the calls and request=s you have ever made.

Disgusted with iiNet and TPG parent company

I am an iiNet customer of 16 years and I recently requested a service relocation due to moving house. I submitted an online request and I did not receive a response for 5 days. When I contacted them by phone, they didn't acknowledge the lack of follow-up and simply wanted to confirm the details of the relocation. The process was relatively straightforward however the lack of communication meant it took 18 days for my new account to be set up and finalised.

Telstra had to connect the line (for a newly built residence) and were fantastic. They called me to confirm when they were to arrive and on what day. They were on time and had the line up and running in minutes. iiNet took a further two weeks to advise me of my new account details, even though I was able to connect to the internet with my previous account details a few days after the line was connected.

In regard to the internet service I ultimately purchased, I am now paying more than before and for a less reliable and slower service. Granted the speed and reliability is down to the exchange in my area, but I feel iiNet is taking advantage of customers in those areas by charging more for a degraded service.

Absolutely the worst!!! Never have i ever been so frustrated and disappointed with anything in my life before.

You want to know how i feel about every aspect of the iinet experience??? I would rather cut my legs off with a bloody 2B pencil then cut my hands off with my legs!!! And if the bad service, absolutely horrendous internet speeds and obnoxious automated phone service wasn't bad enough, the bastards try to tell me i have to pay for everything and anything even after multiple complaints about hidden fees and fees not agreed upon in t's & c's.

To summarise, iinet can eat shite and bugger off.
