Signed up to telstra two years ago. Havent had any connection issues and generally run at an average of 10mbs. Never drops out even in storms. Living rural we chose telstra as theyve been known to be more reliable in our area in terms of outages. Our service also copes quite well with online gaming and movie streaming simultaneously.

Not long after signing up we got a free extra 300mb per month which we were happy with. Although their service team did somehow restart our contract only a year in when I changed our mobile plans, when i notified them they never got around to verifying I didnt authorise it but one of their staff was extremely helpful and sorted it out on the 4th phonecall over three weeks to them about it.

Constantly having issues with Telstra out in the Hawkesbury region, seriously considering a satelite internet instead. They are great in terms of available services but have made the decision to scale back in our certain area, meaning much slower internet.

I would recommend for those moving to rural areas have a talk with their neighbours about the best option prior to making a purchasing decision on a particular Service Provider.

Have been in suburban areas with Telstra before this for roughly 10 years and never had a difficulty with service or connection speeds. Advice? Do your research in rural areas when selecting internet plans.

Telstra took my order for ADSL, told me it could happen, and then when I moved, I was told there were no available ports in my exchange, and I would have to wait. How long? Until someone gave up a port. Could be two weeks, could be two years! Unbelievable.

We have been with Telstra for over 10 years and in the last 3 years the service has become woeful, based on our location from the main exchange we have been told we should have speeds of around 4.5mbps on ADSL2 +. However our speeds are generally range from .10 to 3.5mbps.

At first telstra said it was our fault so we had the entire inside line replaced. We then still had issues so the line from the house to the node was replaced, the node itself had work down as inside was corroded and still the issues and slow speeds occur, it seems that in our area people generally can not get reliable speeds and we had to cancel our streaming service because we were unable to watch it successfully.

Lately now we have been having to make sure we turn off our data on our mobiles as we have experienced excess data charges as the signal is so por when our mobiles are meant to connect to home wifi they just can't. So they run off mobile data instead.

Been a house of four and having two boys how love to play game online it does not matter what the time is the speed has the game laging and kicking them off the server.

The speed is especially slow at peak downs when people are home from school and work as there is to much congestion on the lines.

Our exchange has very limited ports and with an increase in people moving into our area its just getting worse and worse. All i can say is bring on the NBN and a choice to actually get a reliable and efficient provider. We are very limited with what we can we have looked at switching perviously but there is no one else that we can switch to as they have no ports available to move us to.

When dealing with Telstra on the phone, they ask all the usual questions and try to blame the home but we have had five techs come out and test and replace everything and still poor quality issues.

Very happy with the speed & reliabilty of the service. I have noticed many other smaller companies now offering cheaper options with NBN which I am considering moving to. I have only had one technical issue out of the entire 7 years of having the service. I wasn't overly impressed with the technical support due to the lengthy time on call waiting and the staff member not listening to me when I was trying to convey the issue. There was a little bit of a language barrier which seemed to infuse the situation.

I am Telstra customer for almost more then 1 year. Good download speed and fast browsing as well. Sometimes I faced difficulties due to some issues. The support staff helps to solve any problems ASAP using your mobile phone.
I will be happy to recommend telestra to my friends and other as well.

I have been using Telstra for years. Always found their service pretty reliable and consistent and easy to transfer when moving houses. The speed is good but lately had a few drop outs and modem crashes. Technical support are OK but it is getting through to them that is the issue. Long wait times on hold, wrong departments, transfers and when I finally get to speak to someone often their English is poor.

Value for money is good when no problems. Happy to stay with them as don't have the energy for the ring around comparison and scared of having down time if I change providers.

Telstra is OK for value for money. There reliability has certainly dropped over the past 6 months. There technical support is very poor and of no real assistance at all. I end up having to get friends to assist.
