My little old lady mother accidentally signed up to Australia Broadband when she was attempting to sign up for the much better Aussie Broadband who are cheaper and provide a better quality of service. Their terms and conditions clearly state that the contract starts upon confirmation of the service, but she notified them of her mistake and request to cancel prior to receiving that email. Still they proceeded to ship the modem after notification and will not refund her for the overpriced cost of the crappy modem they offer. If this is how they treat their almost customers then how do they treat existing customers? Disgusting and immoral - I have reported to the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman, the Office of Fair Trading and the ACCC. BEWARE, do not make the same mistake! They have extremely poor customer service and ethics.
